AUM Inaugural Fundraiser 2018

On Friday, September 14th, 2018 the culmination of countless hours of planning and preparing came to life at the Inaugural AUM Foundation Pathway2Success Benefit. The weather was perfect as guests trickled in, and mimosas and hors d’oeuvres catered by Grille 29 were served.  There was a casual, friendly atmosphere during the cocktail hour, and guests mingled throughout the gardens.
The list of speakers included a student from the first year of the Pathway2Success, Ms. Tamera Thomas, who gave a heartfelt speech about how the program has impacted her life, even after graduating from the program in 2017. The presenting sponsors spoke about their reason for supporting the AUM Foundation. These supporters included Mr. Ross Henry of Laird Norton Wealth Management, Shawn and Holly Fairburn. Our current mentor, Ms. Danyell Miller spoke about her motivation to become a mentor and what she hopes to achieve in that role. Mr. Clay Hagan from Torch Technologies, spoke about their decision to support individualized private ACT tutoring for the P2S students.
After final speeches were made, a beautiful compilation video was played, featuring snapshots of the students shadowing local professionals, as well as interviews from past and present mentors. Although there were some technical difficulties with the sound, the video was still a powerful representation of this foundation. The buffets were then announced, and the guests returned to socializing and the donation table began buzzing! It was dark by this time, but the temperature was absolutely perfect. Guests were able to head to the pool bar for cocktails, and to view a photo compilation of students from all three years of the program.
The final guests left just past 9pm, and it was clearly evident the event was a victory for the Pathway 2 Success program. The AUM Foundation successfully met their fundraising goal, which will fund scholarships, events, and classes for current and future students.
The AUM Foundation leadership team and board of directors truly appreciate each and every sponsor that believes in the program and has supported them with their resources. We are honored and humbled by the level of generosity that was displayed for our program. We also, sincerely thank our volunteers that made this event successful.
